I have a secret. Something that’s been brewing and I never thought I would admit. Maybe it is just the 5 year itch, but I miss living in the Tampa Bay area. If I could have my way I would live like a snowbird, November-April in the sunshine state (with season Lightning tickets of course! Let me do your social media!) and the rest of the year in my native Michigan.

Someone find me a job that would allow me to do this. Please, pretty please?

I had a shitty job when we lived in Florida that made me miserable. I miss playing tennis in January and swimming in the Gulf, not to mention the sunshine.

Sunshine -all year long!

I’m disenchanted with Detroit and Michigan lately.

Feb

Happy last day of February! Usually it’s January that I’m happy to see go but this February has been brutal with the amount of snow and crappy driving conditions. Good riddance. That also means that summer is creeping a little bit closer every day. Woofuckinghoo! I miss my flip flops!

I won’t bore you too much more with my Tampa trip. We went to the game and we were amazed by the sea of red. I felt a little sorry for Tampa because when the Wings scored 6 times the place was crazy. It was even so bad (for Tampa Bay) that there were not 1 but 3 octopi (a Detroit hockey tradition for playoffs) thrown out onto the ice. I mean these Wings fans stuffed an octopus in their pants! (I don’t know if it actually came from their pants…) One of the Tampa Bay crew members got fined for swinging one around. I don’t know if he knew that the gesture is disrespectful to the home team or not. You can only swing Octopi in Detroit, sorry Stevie Y. I read an article that even the upper management was embarrassed by all the red in the seats. The Lightning organization vowed not to raise ticket prices for playoffs this year or next season so Lightning fans will buy tickets to avoid the massive amounts of out of state fans.

Water Taxi to the game – It was GORGEOUS out

The rest of the time was spent walking around Tampa and spending quality time with C. Oh and of course, enjoying the pool and the view from our balcony!

Hello Blog!  How are you doing?

(insert the voice of the adults in Peanuts)

I’m fine thanks.

(insert the voice of the adults in Peanuts)

::looks down in shame:: I know I’m been slacking lately.  I haven’t had much inspiration.  It’s hard sometimes ya know?

(insert the voice of the adults in Peanuts)

::shifts weight from foot to foot nervously:: Yes I know that there are fun, silly, bad, lovely things that make up every single day.  And that the days I have a difficult time writing are the best days to expand my writing skills.

(insert the voice of the adults in Peanuts)

I promise to try harder.

(insert the voice of the adults in Peanuts)

I WILL!!!  Promise.  Guess what Blog, I’m going to Florida in 3 weeks!

(insert the voice of the adults in Peanuts)

Yes only 3 weeks!  We are going to Tampa!  We are going to reminisce about when we live there.  Probably drive up and down US 19 and try not to get into an accident.  We’ll go to Tarpon Springs and get some Baklava and then down to Craig Park where we used to play tennis and see the manatees!  That was the best part of living there.

We also are going to see the Red Wings play Tampa Bay (the only time they will meet this season)!!  When we lived there we had a package of tickets and we saw the Wings play the Lightening then too.  You wouldn’t believe the amount of Wings fans were in the St. Pete Times Forum.

Don’t worry I will have lots of beach time too.  I’ll be soaking up as much sun as humanly possible!

Hey Blog, maybe I’ll tell you about my living experience in Florida sometime.  About the crabby people I worked with and the traffic.  Dear God…the traffic!

Thanks for forgiving me Blog.

Love you too
