I’m not a big concert goer. Mostly because I hate having to get out of the venue after it’s over. My first concert at a small venue was Treble Charger back in 2001 or something. I don’t remember it all that well but I know that I had fun for the most part. Well with the exception of having to chauffeur my douche bag of an exboyfriend around.
When it was announced that Our Lady Peace was going to be playing at the Fillmore in Detroit, I bought tickets for C and I. Besides the fight C and I got in because he was an asshole to the girl at the bar (and I really hate when people are assholes to waitresses & bartenders. He’s not usually like that, I guess we can all be assholes sometimes but I should be able to let him know when he is right? Cuz he got pissed I called him out. Oh well) it was a good night.
Another funny story is that standing next to me was a girl I went to high school with. She was a grade behind me but we had yearbook together. I can’t believe that she didn’t notice me so I’ve narrowed it down to 3 reasons why she didn’t say anything.
- She really didn’t recognize me
- She didn’t like me enough in high school to acknowledge me now
- She heard me tell C she was a major drama queen in high school always crying over something
Seriously, right next to her. So close that when we were singing/bobbing to the music we were banging into each other.
The weather was kind of strange on Friday. It rained while the sun was still out so there was a pretty rainbow over Comerica Park when we came out of the parking structure. I don’t care what people say, there is an urban beauty to Detroit. To appreciate it you have to really open your eyes. Detroit wasn’t always the way it is now and it won’t always be this way either.
Oh you want to see pictures from the concert… Um yeah, I couldn’t figure out the settings to take decent pictures but here’s a couple. Haha.
How ’bout some video? Just to warn you you may hear C or I singing. I’m apologizing in advance because really? We shouldn’t sing. Ever.
