Getting ready to go to the Wings Game!
The only man a girl can depend on is her father. At least that is the way it should be. I guess I’m lucky. My dad would do just about anything for me. No we don’t talk about deep personal stuff but I know if I wanted to open up he’d listen. If I ever need anything all I have to do is call. C thinks its an insult when he sneers and calls me a daddy’s girl, but I don’t see it that way at all.
He came over this morning and helped me rip up the soggy, nasty carpet in the basement and then we carried it outside. I’m not exaggerating when I say that helps so much with the damp, musty smell emitting from down there.
After he left I used to dry vac to suck up any excess water. The whole ripping up nasty carpet isn’t helping with my sniffles andcoughing. All that is left to do is mop with some bleach and start drying stuff out that is salvagable.
I’m sure you have been anxiously awaiting this post, sitting on the edge of your seat. Um yeah…
So a couple weekends ago C and I bought a new grill. Ohhhh, Ahhhh. We also bought a fire pit to burn all the millions and billons of sticks and branches in our yard. You know because raking up 15 bags of leaves and not being even close to finished means you have WAY too many trees. Wait, can you ever have too many trees?

using the new grill that took us 3 hours to put together LOL
Easter Sunday we got up, had coffee and made brunch, which included Mimosas. YUM! And I bought orange juice with mango in it. *drool

french toast, eggs and hashbrows and of course the best part mimosa!
It was also Nani’s 8th birthday!

I thought this was a cute one, believe me I took more!

C got the minibike up and running!

Nani, Scooby, Liko
I was browsing etsy last weekend, looking for stuff for our walls. They are quite bare. I found these resin prints (by Atomikitty)of Menehune, which are said to be a people, sometimes described as dwarfs in size, who live in the deep forests and hidden valleys of the Hawaiian islands, far from the eyes of normal humans.
While C and I were in Hawaii we were told that things disappearing and odd thins happening were blamed on the Menhune. Can’t find your keys? It’s the Menehune. I’ve always been fascinated by mythology and folktales, so why wouldn’t I be infatuated with these prints? I showed them to C and he told me I had to buy them.
They came framed in bamboo and they go well with the color of our living room. I’m so in love with them.

Don't mind the drill, other clutter and Bear Grylls
This was my Friday off. Oh my and how I love thee!
We got Nani a $300 necklace today. Yes you read that right, a $300 necklace.
the invisible fence collar

showing off her jewels lol
Oh right, it’s an invisible fence collar. A very expensive 3/4 inch fabric collar. The owner’s of the house were nice enough to have the invisible fence put in and they actually left the collar when they vacated the house. Because we kind of feel bad the house was a foreclosure we like to think the previous owners had another house already and they just let this one go. And there are some things that make us think that maybe that was the case. They left the collar, the garage door opener and all the closets were cleaned out. So that’s what I’m believing.
Scooby was the lucky recipient of the old collar because he really needed to learn. He likes to go for what C likes to call “jogs”. He’d go out in the morning and come back 15 minutes later. Yeah I’m glad he came back but I’m pretty sure the neighbors wouldn’t like that so much when they caught on.
So far so good.

Nani and her first training session
We don’t really anticipate any problems with Nani, but for the unusual time there is something that excites her, we don’t want her running into the street. Scooby has already found he can go through the fence so when we bought the new collar we had his adjusted so there isn’t a delay. He won’t be able to think before the “correction”. I have to tell you that I’m not a big fan of shock collars but we really don’t have a choice but use these here.
Sorry for my angry post yesterday, I was so annoyed. Well truth be told I’ve been holding on to it for awhile so it might have festered before I actually wrote about it. I’m back to my cheery self now
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
