After I wrote my love for google notebook

Google Notebook, an application that lets users organize clips of information when conducting research online, will also stop receiving support, wrote product manager Raj Krishnan. However, Google will continue to maintain service for those users who have already signed up. Krishnan also listed other Google applications that have Notebook-like functionality, such as SearchWiki and GoogleDocs.

This is the one where I am obnoxiously, positively and completely in love with Google.

I’ve been using Google Docs and Google Notebook for a long time now.  Have you tried them?  Please tell me you know they exist.  That you’ve opened them.  Yes they look plain and simple.  But you can do so much with them.  I use them almost daily.

Google Docs you can (I’m sure there is more but this is what I use it for):

  1. Import/Export
  2. Collaborate
  3. Share

It acts a lot like Word and even spell checks for you.  IC and I have been writing on a novel using Google Docs.  She lives in Florida and I’m in Michigan this makes it so easy to see each other changes and know who’s updated last.

Google Notebooks is great for clipping things when web searching.  Firefox has a plug in that sits in the bottom right hand corner of the browser window.

You can (again, what I use it for):

  1. Clipping recipes (or other types of articles.  it saves what you’ve highlighted and the link where it came from) and sharing certain notebooks with others so they can add to it  screenshot029-copy
  2. Publish a website of a certain notebook to share with people screenshot028
  3. Export to a document
  4. Create an RSS feed

I recently started using it for work when I edit websites.  It makes it easy to make a to-do list of things that need to be fixed.  It’s all in one place and accessible anywhere there is an internet connection.  So check them out.

Do you already use it?  If so, what are you using it for?  Love it? Hate it?  I’m curious and just want to know :)
