I’m late to jump on the Dexter bandwagon but OMG I just finished season 2 last night while the Super Bowl was on.  Sorry, I really don’t care about it at all.  C and I were looking for a new show after we finished the Rescue Me series (when is season 6 coming to dvd?????) and Dexter filled the void quite nicely.  I’m constantly amazed at the twist and turns in the plot.  Sure there are little things that bug me about it but this show is definitely a winner.

I have a serious girl crush on Isla Fisher, she is so cute.  After finishing Dexter C and I watched Wedding Daze.  Cute movie but definitely not a movie with any substance.

Excuse me, when did Jason Biggs get attractive?  Uh and he had a pretty hot body at the beginning of the movie with his skimpy little red undies.

Even though I didn’t watch the Super Bowl, I did see the Chysler commercial.  It was nice to see Detroit in a positive light, especially to an audience so big.  Sure, maybe people in other states saw it as another commercial, but I hope that isn’t the case.  There are some really great things in Detroit that get over looked. The people that make up the city get put down, but there are a lot of 20 and 30somethings that have decided to move downtown.  It is a city that is often the butt of jokes, but it’s where I went to school and where I frequently visit and I’m proud of it.

I do wonder how much Em was paid to appear in this ad…

Today’s question:

Best Restaurant Moment

Andrew’s on the Corner in Detroit, watching the Wings in the Stanley Cup Finals.

We did shots from the hockey stick and it’s one of the first times in a long time A Panda came out with us!

I’m not a big concert goer.  Mostly because I hate having to get out of the venue after it’s over.  My first concert at a small venue was Treble Charger back in 2001 or something.  I don’t remember it all that well but I know that I had fun for the most part.  Well with the exception of having to chauffeur my douche bag of an exboyfriend around.

When it was announced that Our Lady Peace was going to be playing at the Fillmore in Detroit,  I bought tickets for C and I.   Besides the fight C and I got in because he was an asshole to the girl at the bar (and I really hate when people are assholes to waitresses & bartenders.  He’s not usually like that, I guess we can all be assholes sometimes but I should be able to let him know when he is right?  Cuz he got pissed I called him out.  Oh well) it was a good night.

Another funny story is that standing next to me was a girl I went to high school with.  She was a grade behind me but we had yearbook together.  I can’t believe that she didn’t notice me so I’ve narrowed it down to 3 reasons why she didn’t say anything.

  1. She really didn’t recognize me
  2. She didn’t like me enough in high school to acknowledge me now
  3. She heard me tell C she was a major drama queen in high school always crying over something ;-)

Seriously, right next to her.  So close that when we were singing/bobbing to the music we were banging into each other.

The weather was kind of strange on Friday.  It rained while the sun was still out so there was a pretty rainbow over Comerica Park when we came out of the parking structure.  I don’t care what people say, there is an urban beauty to Detroit.  To appreciate it you have to really open your eyes.  Detroit wasn’t always the way it is now and it won’t always be this way either.

Oh you want to see pictures from the concert… Um yeah, I couldn’t figure out the settings to take decent pictures but here’s a couple.  Haha.

How ’bout some video? Just to warn you you may hear C or I singing. I’m apologizing in advance because really? We shouldn’t sing. Ever.

The Pens didn’t make it easy. I held my breath & profanities and jumped up off the couch during the last seconds when that puck came dangerously close to tying up the game yet again in the final seconds.

I love the interview with Ozzie when he said he was going to smack Hoodler (? i think) in the side of the head. Loved the goal that Fleury sat on and pushed the puck into the net.

CONGRATULATIONS WINGS!!!

~Side note: Much respect to Fluery and Hossa of the Pens.
