True to my word, things that are making me happy…

  • C feeling ok enough to go our for a little while on Saturday night (with a little prodding from my dad), so I’m working on some last minute costumes.
  • LP and her boyfriend coming to hang out on Saturday too
  • Datsyuk scoring the game winning  goal (with 11.4 seconds left in the game!) against the goon Anaheim Ducks in Saturday’s game

  • This warm fall weather
  • My new boyfriend

  • Buying 5 pumpkins and finding designs to carve into them
  • Consignment shopping! I found some really awesome finds at the place near our cottage
  • Making an appointment to get my hair cut and colored
  • Smushy faced puppy dog and spoiled labrador

  • Clear sky, full moon and Lake Huron – Gorgeous

What’s making you happy?

Could it be? Will Datsyuk play tonight?  Loved this video.  It had both my favorite players! Datsyuk and Ozzie.  W00T!!

On being out the last 6 games with a foot injury:

“This is not fun to watch,” Datsyuk said. “I take in lots of beer.”

The Wings game last night?

AMAZING!

Now that it is over and we won, I can say it was frickin’ awesome.  Close enough to keep you on the edge of your seat.  The experience of a game 7 playoff game is something I’ll remember.  The waving of the pom poms made me dizzy as 20,000 fans chanted.  The sound was deafening.    I’ve been to regular season games, shoot I went to game 5 in the same series, but last night the fans were crazy loud.  The energy was high and our Wings pulled it off.

Look at the wheels on Helm!

Not to mention Happy Hudler’s goal,  my boyfriend Datsyuk’s pass to Samuelson or Cleary’s game winning goal!

The lyrics from Bon Jovi’s song played as fans exited the Joe chanting and screaming “Ozzie” or “Go Wings”,

We are halfway there, livin on a prayer.

I know I complain every time Monday rolls around but seriously this weekend felt jam packed.

Friday, I had a lot of running around to do and then we met the lovely Maeko for dinner for her birthday. Fun times.

Saturday, I had some sidework I had to do. I’m kind of excited about the project. I shouldn’t be too difficult and some extra cash is always nice. I am saving up to buy a new digital camera because the one that C bought me to replace mine after it died is just not my friend. Suggestions on what I should do with it when I buy another? It wasn’t cheap. Craigslist, maybe?

Saturday evening C and I worked around the house. All my summer clothes are at the front of my closet. You hear that Mother Nature? No more snow or cold weather!

Sunday we worked around the house and then went to the Wings game! WooHOO! That was tons of fun. Maybe a little more fun than should be had on a Sunday. (That’s my slight headache speaking).

Game 5 was tons of fun!

And a couple more for good measure.

C has been playing hockey since he was 3 years old. He’s been watching the Wings since then too. He knows a little bit a lot about hockey.

C: Datsyuk hasn’t been on his mark in scoring since the playoffs started
Me: Maybe I need to sex him up a little bit
C: *stares at me
Me: What? He’s my boyfriend
C: You better watch it
Me: He’s been hitting more though
C: Yeah he makes up for not scoring goals, that’s why the Wings are so deep they have players that can play all positions

We got into Tampa and our rental car around noon.  It was exciting to walk outside and be engulfed in warmth.  I think I let out a content sigh.  And then I pulled our Nissan Altima (it was equipped was one of those buttons you push to start the car, more about that later) out onto Spruce Street.  Fucking goddamn traffic.  I had a moment where I realized again why I left.  What is with all the fucking traffic?  I haz a feeling.

Moving on…

So our car had one of those push to start buttons.  The idea is great I love it but you can easily (as C did a couple times) forget to turn the car off or lock it (like I did when we got to the Tampa Bay Lightening Game and we had to walk back after dinner when I couldn’t remember getting the keyfab out).

We brought our tennis raquets in hopes of going to our old stomping grounds and Craig Park.  It was the coolest place to play tennis, right on an inlet and November-March it’s a manatee sanctuary.

Obviously from my beginning paragraph I don’t miss Florida much.  And I’m not bashing it, it’s just not for me.  But I love Love LOVE Publix!  Like we are talking if it was a person I would marry it.  Well…you know what I mean.  I love that their produce, seafood and meat is all pretty fresh.  They also have amazing subs.

you are totally like OMG she took a picture of the sub arent you?

One other thing I couldn’t complain about is the weather.  Seriously it was beautiful out.

I can’t just lay at the beach though.  I get bored much to C’s displeasure.  He’s perfectly content sitting there.  I can only read so long before I feel like I might go insane.

We booked a hotel through hotels.com.  This was my first time doing that and I would definitely do it again.  We stayed at the Quality Hotel in Clearwater.  It was a pleasant surprise.  It was really clean and the room was nice with a balcony that had a corner view of the water.  We seriously only paid like $80/night and it was way more than we expected.  They were always cleaning and the staff was super friendly.  They also had coffee in the lobby at all times with the good International Delight creamers.  My favorite ;)

Thursday night we went and saw Tampa Bay Lightening play the Detroit Red Wings.  Would you believe it took almost 2 hours to get into Tampa?

They don’t play each other usually more than once a year.  Last year we saw them play at Joe Louis and the year before that I think we saw them in Tampa.  It was pretty fun and it’s always good to see all my hockey boyfriends.

Vinnie LeCavalier

Vinnie LeCavalier, we did get booed a little standing down at the Lightening end but I figured I could take 'em if they gave me trouble ;)

This is only the first couple of days.  I think I’ll have to make this part I and part II will be tomorrow.  I took 138 pictures (a lot were at the game).  Crazy I know!

Stay Tuned!
