I’d like to say I’m outgoing and fun and crazy but I’m pretty sure most of that’s all in my wild imagination. In reality I enjoy learning but I’m a jack of all trades. I skim over the top of things, merely sticking a toe in. I’m still trying to figure out my passion. There is so much out there to learn and experience I get overwhelmed. I couldn’t imagine my life without my closest friends or the unconditional love of my dogs.
In short: I’m a clumsy, narcissistic, passionate, loyal, and sarcastic 20something that is just trying to find my place is this world. I’m a dreamer and logical at the same time. I’m a walking contradiction and I love it.
Background Info
Curious where rialeilani comes from?
I graduated the 5 year college program from Wayne State University with a degree in journalism after changing my major 3 times and then back. The problem with that is not the writing (obviously) but with the digging into people’s private life and also the hours. Who wants to work 16 hours a day and get paid $25k?
I love animals and I have 3 dogs:
- Nani: our “big boned” black lab
- Liko: our rat terrier we rescued in Florida. He’s as neurotic as I am
- Scooby: our boxer-mix who may have lost a few brain cells before we adopted him (roh roh)
I also have 2 guinea pigs named Spike & Bobble. Bobble is the new addition, she is named that because her head moves like a bobblehead.

I used to volunteer at the Dearborn Animal Shelter, http://dearborn-animals.com/, before I moved and am also a certified dog trainer.
I would love to write a book but I think it would take me quitting my job and locking myself away in a cabin somewhere to actually write it. I need the quiet and alone time to let the characters and story unfold in my mind while I type away. IC and I have a book that is almost finished, it only took us 5 years. And will probably take another 5 before the last chapters are written.

That’s a cute picture, skinny!

OMG! The more I read on your blog, the more surprised I am. Truly we live in a small world. My cousin, who lives in Dearborn (off Outer Drive) also HAD volunteered at the animal shelter there. Once she moved…that ended.
I’ve got to share with you an experience I had while living outside the USA. I was leaving Germany and going back to Romania. Standing at a train station in Stutgaart (Germany) there was a guy that grew up living on the same street that I did. We just stood there, staring at each other for a moment. w
We burst out laughing and then gave one another a huge hug. It totally shocked both of us. The amazing thing is…we were both working as Humanitarian Aid Relief Coordinator’s, He was strictly working on the European continent & I had been traveling across four different continents.
Experience has taught me that a coincidence is when the Lord “decides” to remain anonymous.
Hey! Go get the guitar you wrote about desiring to have.
Michelle
I love that you wrote, “In reality I enjoy learning but I’m a jack of all trades. I skim over the top of things, merely sticking a toe in. I’m still trying to figure out my passion.” HOW TRUE that is for me as well but you wrote it brilliantly here. I always say, if I quit dabbling in 10 different hobbies and concentrate on one- i’d be wicked talented! I feel like I start a new one every day… rubber stamps, quilting, building drawing, painting, webpages, scapping (for a day, ha! ha!), knitting scarves, etc…. I just gotta find MY PASSION and pour myself into it wholeheartedly
Hi, just checking out your site here, very nice!
