I’m seriously finding that the older I get the more comfortable I am with myself.  I know you’ve heard this before in a previous post I wrote not that long ago.

I think I’m more artsy than I give myself credit for.  I may not be creative when it comes to sewing, drawing or painting but I think I’m still finding what I’m good at.  I need to just let go and not be afraid to fail.  Which is why I need to just sign up for the graphic design classes.  You know since my company will pay 75%. Ugh I need a shove here.

I finally dyed my hair after 26 years and I LOVE it.  I kind of like being funky.

Ashley from Our Little Apartment was twittering (?) how she is getting her nose pierced today and I am seriously jealous.  I’ve wanted it done for a long time now, kind of like dying my hair, but I’m afriad.

As much as I honestly don’t care what people think, I don’t want to be that “old” chick trying to act 18 again.  I just turned 27.  So my question to you is how old is  too old to be experimenting?  To stop yourself from getting something that you’ve wanted for awhile?

Also, as much as I love where I work would it be an issue?  I don’t know if anyone would notice…hmmm

Another hold up is that C isn’t really sold on the idea of a nose stud. It would just be tiny.  A little sparkly. Ya know?

I don’t know.  I guess I’ll just wait and see how this plays out.

Well I think work would be the only thing holding you back, but if they’re cool with it? Why not. Everyone else can just suck it! ha! :)

I have also really wanted my nose piercing, as well as a tattoo and i’m also 27. I have the same thoughts but you know what? We’re not 50 and even then–its not too old! I don’t think its us rebelling, by now we’re old enough and smart enough to know what we really want.

At least thats what i keep telling myself :)

If I ever get up the courage, we’re going when i get to ann arbor!!

I don’t think you’re ever too old to experiment and try new things. My grandma decided she wanted to play violin in her 70s and just went for it. She’s been playing for over 10 years now.

I say go for the piercing – if you don’t like it you can always take it out. They seem to close up pretty well.

And you should totally sign up for the graphic design class, especially if your company will pay for it. That’s a great opportunity!

I don’t think there’s any age where it’s too old to be experimenting. As long as you’re healthy and still able, then just go for it :)

OOOO! I’m taking web design (year long diploma program, it’s less than associates, but enough to teach me what I really need to know). You should take graphic design! Do you know what a blogging powerhouse you would be if you could do your own graphics?

I don’t think you are too old. What’s the difference if you had the piercing years ago and were 27 still with it (like someone I know) or are just getting it done? :)

you’re only as old as you think you are. i have an eyebrow ring that i got 3 years ago. i plan on keeping it until it falls out or i get sick of it, but if someone asks me to take it out for a job or for any other conforming reason, i’m going to tell them to stick it up their ass and walk away. it doesn’t define who i am, it’s just a part of me now. if other people can’t deal with it, they can suck it.

i’ve always wanted a nose ring, not a stud. i might do that yet, but i’m not sure how i feel about two piercings on my face. we’ll see! i say go for it, see how YOU like it, and work from there!

I was 30 when I got my first tattoo – and I am so *not* a tattoo girl (whatever that means) and then I got my second one at 33. I love love love the first one which is on my ankle and hate the 2nd one but luckily it is on my back. I say go for it if you decide you don’t like it you can take it out.

p.s you are NEVER too old

i say do it! it doesn’t seem old or desperate unless you’re the mom going with your 16 year old daughter to get your belly buttons pierced together. that bugs the crap out of me. but i do understand how you feel, i’m 22 and i really want my labret pierced, but i feel like i’m “too old” to get it because i’m out of college haha. i know i’m not, but it still seems like something i should have done when i was 19 and drunk all the time.

Hey, I say go for it! You’re never too old for anything. My mom got her first tattoo when she was 50. And I think she rocks. :)

I think you’d look pretty with a bit of nose bling. :)

I have my nose pierced and I’m 26. However, I took my tongue ring out this year because I started feeling like I was too old for it. I think it comes down to what you’re comfortable with – if you want your nose pierced – do it!

I see plenty of “funky” looking people in their late 30′s who look fine. You’ve still got a good few years of experimenting left :P
