Oh thank you so much for asking me questions. I have a fear of rejection! You guys came up with some good ones, so without further ado…
GingerMandy asked: Would you rather know your future or change your past? Why?
Oh that’s kind of tough. I mean I get really anxious about what the future holds but sometimes it gives me nice surprises and I think it would be boring to know everything that was going to happen. I also don’t think that we should live with regrets because we almost always learn something from our past. With that said, if I had to choose, I think I’d change the past.
There is one guy that haunts me, some of you know all about it. I think if we would have fought harder, gotten dealt a different hand we would have had a good life together. He was different from other guys I dated. I never felt I had to “take care” of him. I just wanted to hang out with him and we were crazy together. Sometimes I get tired of being the responsible one. And that could be the reason we weren’t meant to be together. We joked that we’d probably end up in jail or dead because together we could get into a lot of trouble.
I truly believe though, that we are where we are meant to be, in the exact moment we are there.
Very thought provoking!
Sarah asked:
- how did you and c meet? i’ve been reading for a while and i don’t think you’ve written about that.or i possibly read too many blogs and totally forgot.
- also what’s your favorite thing to do/place to go in detroit and your favorite restaurant?
Our story is not original at all. I went out with my boss at the time (who’s 18yrs older than me) to this awful bar in wyandotte. She started talking to C’s friend and I was sitting at the bar wishing I could just go home. C took pity on me and started up a conversation. Honestly, I didn’t think he would be a guy I’d have a lasting relationship with but, you know, I was wrong. Haha.
Oh my favorite place in Detroit. I loved when 5th Avenue was in Comerica Park, we had a lot of fun there. When I was at Wayne State I used to love going to Cass Cafe and Circa bar. I really want to try Slow’s BBQ I hear it’s delicious!
Erin asked:
- As someone who grew up next to Michigan, I want to know what your fave thing is about living there?
- You and C have been married for a while now, any babies in your future? Why or why not? How much does it irk you when people ask that?
My favorite thing about Michigan is the summers and traveling up north! We take for granted the Great Lakes but after living in Florida I definately had a greater appreciation.
As for kids, I bitched about it here, but in short we are totally undecided if we will ever have them. I just can’t imagine taking on that responsibility right now. We have 3 dogs and that’s enough for the time being

Mermanda asked: You are at a diner for brunch. What do you order?
Oh I love food. I’m always torn between french toast and eggs/hashbrowns. C and I have a diner by our house and we’ve fixed this problem. He orders and omelet and I order french toast and we share. *sigh the best of both worlds!
Michelle asked: What are the three things that stress you out the most? What the three things that relax you the most?
- money (seriously a necessary evil)
- figuring out what I want to do with the “rest of my life”
- worrying about my dogs (I have an irrational fear that they will accidentally get into something posionous or run away, etc)
- writing
- reading
- tae kwon do
Stay tuned for part II

odette´s last blog ..the winner takes it!
I tried Tae Kwon Do one time on a cruise ship. It was extremely relaxing, although the instructor got irritated with the students because we weren’t doing it right.

I second Sarah…Slows is phenomenal. And I’m not even a bbq fan. Just be prepared to wait. Whether it’s a Tuesday night or a Friday night, they’re packed.

those are all great questions!
lets see…. my question for you is….. without thinking of any repercussion, what would you be doing with your life right now? — where would you live? work? married or single?

Only recently I realized how much we take our Great Lakes for granted. What do people do without those giant bodies of water nearby??

Thanks for answering! Money is my #1 stressor too! Well not so much money per se but not having enough money – that is the part that stresses me out. And yoga is my #1 de-stressor unless I can get to a beach that works great too!

good answer, good answer
i think we’ve all been with some people that makes us wonder what we were thinking, or how our life would have turned out different if we didn’t leave or get left. interesting…

I’ve heard about Slow’s BBQ but haven’t been there yet. Since I don’t eat ribs or burgers it’s not a must on my list. But I’m curious…do they have good french fries?
