ZILWAUKEE BRIDGE UPDATE
MDOT is in the process of removing all construction associated with the Zilwaukee Bridge in Saginaw County. By nightfall, all lanes and ramps that have been closed will be reopened, and traffic patterns will return to normal. (courtesy of AAA)

Woo!!!!!!  It seems like it’s been under construction forever!!!!!  Maybe that’s my sign I should go up north?  No? Maybe?

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I got nothing for you today.

Nada.

This usually happens to me on Mondays.

I could tell you how crabby I was earlier but eh who’s not at least a little crabby on Mondays?

I had a lunch meeting today so I don’t have any pics from lunch.

Hmmm…

OH! I know.  I got new earrings yesterday.  I don’t think I mentioned but I lost one of my diamond studs last week.  This is the second time this is happened to me!  I wear the same earrings every day because (1) I’m lazy and (2) I’m too tired in the morning to find something else to wear.

C bought me these while we were at the mall yesterday to replace the ones I lost:

They are tanzanite.  Purrrrttttyyyy :)   They were even less than the price on the website.  I love clearance :)

I’m trying to figure out how I feel about Sweetest Day.  I guess not much.  I’ve only had one boyfriend that celebrated hallmark holidays like it.  Obviously he’s history so a nice dinner and flowers/candy on a Saturday wasn’t the only thing I need.  He did last most of my junior and senior years of high school though.

Anyhow.  Today was an interesting day.  I had plans to meet my aunts for lunch with J14.  I love my aunts dearly but it’s a little depressing.  They are actually my great-aunts so they have lived very interesting lives and are in their 70′s.  It’s depressing because such bad things have happened to them and are in the process of happening.  My aunt M is living proof that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.  She is still as sweet as I’ve always remembered; caring, gentle and kind, even when life keeps throwing her rotten egg after rotten egg.  I honestly left lunch thinking about how much one person can go through and not break.  I hope I inherited her strength and I won’t ever have to use it.

J14 lives about 40 minutes away from me but one of her family members is buried in a cemetery by my house so she asked me if it was ok if we stopped.  It was gorgeous again today.  Plenty of sunshine and blue skies with that hint of fall crispness.  I don’t mind where I am as long as I’m outside.  I would have stopped with her even if it was pouring but the weather made it nice.

I don’t know anyone close to me that is buried in a cemetery.  We walked around looking for the…um…nameplate (? I’m not sure what it’s called since it’s not really a headstone).  Once we found it and cleared it off and I felt the need to clear the leaves from others around it.  It’s sad to see grass grown over obscuring the names of those departed.  So if you have a relative or friend buried in a cemetery you should make time to go down there and clear the debris from their resting place.

I finally got to the cider mill but have yet to drink my cider.  I went for a jog at the park and it was beautiful and refreshing.  Sometimes I wish I could just run a little faster, a littler farther.  Secretly, maybe I just want to run away and not look back.

Last night the co-workers (Anonymous Amy, Delicious Nothings, SJ, KM and SM) and I went to happy hour.    We were in search of the elusive Perfect drink (patron magarita, the name describes it all).   It has been widely talked about in awe and anticipation.  Friday dragged on slowly, with hushed whispers on how many hours were left before the smooth taste of tequila and lime slid down our throats.  Really it was that good.  Well for me at least.  In this occasion the anticipation was not better than the actual beverage.  “It tastes like Mexico”

Honestly I had an awesome time.  I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time.  Where my stomach actually hurt so bad from laughing.  I’m not a “snorter” but I can recall a couple occasion where a snort almost slipped.  Yeah it was that good.  The conversation was diverse including some mention of penis snatchers (Brazilian or African depending on who you asked) a splash of football and some politics (see we aren’t completely immature ;) ).  It was a relatively early night, though I could have hung out with all of them until dawn (I probably would have passed out before dawn).  I hope we do it again sometime soon.

I also rekindled my infatuation with tequila.  Mr. Patron you will be frequenting my house in the near future.

Right on the money:

You Act Like You Are 26 Years Old

You are a twenty-something at heart. You feel like an adult, and you’re optimistic about life.

You feel excited about what’s to come… love, work, and new experiences.

You’re still figuring out your place in the world and how you want your life to shape up.

The world is full of possibilities, and you can’t wait to explore many of them.

What Age Do You Act?
