First of all, tons of thank yous for all the input for C’s gift.
He made it so easy to pick out a gift.
Scene: Wednesday morning before work. C is reading his surfing magazine while eating a bowl of cereal (sidenote: I don’t know how he does this? I don’t have time for a leisurely read before work, and if I do I obviously should have slept 20 more minutes) I am in the bathroom trying to unkink my bangs.
C (holding his magazine up to my face): I want these (pointing to the advertisement for recycled flip flops)
me (holding my bangs in one hand and the dryer in the other): um ok, what color?
C: Black (turns and walks out of the bathroom)
Note: mind you he doesn’t know that I don’t have a gift for him yet, he points things out to me all the time and most times nothing ever comes about it because he forgets or decides he doesn’t need said things.
So I ordered them while I was at work after much searching for a black pair. Just so you know you can’t order products directly from reef.com but they do give you some online sellers.
Scene: I’m munching on something before tae kwon do and C is sitting at the table flipping through the surf magazine. He picks it up,
C (walking toward me): I’m going to go order these.
me (mouth hanging open, not able to think of anything fast): You’re an asshole
C (stopping to look at me): why?
me: you’re just an asshole, I can’t ever have anything a surprise (starting to tantrum)
C (smiles fully understanding my statement): I didn’t know! I wasn’t even trying to figure out what you got me
frickity frick frick frick
But all is well. I also ordered him a dvd he’s been wanting but has probably forgot about as well as a cd. I think I’m covered. Oh and for the paper part of the 1st anniversary I’ll be getting him a card that will have pictures of the stuff I ordered since it won’t be here on time. muhahahaha

oh man! i just went through the ordeal of gift-getting for my fiancee’s birthday next week. he’s the best gift-giver ever: he notices things i like or point out or even just linger on at a store. wtf?! and then i’m totally surprises, totally love it, and totally in love with him all over again. i always get stressed. i’m giving him his gifts tonight – fingers crossed!
