Mar

It was a slow afternoon at work. And luckily yesterday I got a toy.

Yesterday…
My boss: Look what I got for my birthday, it’s fun
(hands me a rubik’s cube that doesn’t have rotating parts but an ‘on’ switch located on the red side)
Me: Ohhhhh
My boss: it has different games you can play (leaves it on my desk)

rubiks cubeSo this afternoon we did just that. I turned it on and tried to figure out the games, KM took it from me and figured out how to play the games. When he got frustrated/bored he gave it back. (gee thanks) When MA got back to the office we had an impromptu game of pass the rubik’s cube. The game was called “lightspeed” I believe. I’m sure I’ll get corrected if I’m wrong. One of the colored sides would light up and you had to press the button on that side and another side would light up. So it was kind of like hot potato. Our rules were you could only screw it up 3 times by either being too slow or pressing the wrong button (this got more difficult when the blue light stopped coming on) the buzzer would go off restarting the count. Anyhow, KM lost first twice!!! :) And MA kicked our asses 2 times in a row. As always, I’m middle of the road and came in second.

And now for the realization. It’s kind of a downer, but I’m ok with it. I went to tkd today and Grand Master was back from Korea. He hadn’t remembered if I was going to the tournament…and I realized, the only reason why there is attention on me (out of all the schools/classes) is because “I’m going to be teaching at my daddy’s school one day”. (which in reality, I’m not too sure about) I put that in quotes because the comment was something like this:
gm: no, no how you gonna teach at your daddy’s school like that?

He really wasn’t being critical, just improving my poomse. He did tell me that I was 75% there and in a couple weeks my poomse would be 100%. It’s great being taught by someone with experience like his, and even my dad’s. So like I said, I’m ok with this and I always try my best :)

And PS cuz I’ll get reprimanded if I don’t add that SH took the actual photo, not me because…well…my finger was on the cube ;)
